GATTARAN, CAGAYAN - In support to the government's effort to rehabilitate the Cagayan River, the DILG Cagayan Provincial Office, represented by LGOOs II Renz Angelo Umambong and Kymverlie Mallo, participated in the "Seedlings of Hope" Launching Ceremony on February 1, 2020, in the Municipality of Gattaran, Cagayan. The "Seedlings of Hope" is a massive seedling program that will be implemented throughout the entire province as part of the holistic endeavor to rehabilitate the Cagayan River.

PEÑABLANCA, CAGAYAN – In support to the implementation of Executive Order No. 70 in the grassroots level, the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) expressed ironclad support in the crafted enhanced BDPs, as well as the implementation of the programs, projects, and activities contained therein during the 1^st Quarter CY 2021 joint meeting held via teleconference.

PEÑABLANCA, CAGAYAN – During its 1^st Quarter CY 2021 meeting, the Cagayan Peace and Order Council (POC) unanimously agreed to create a Peace Negotiation Panel. Under EO No. 70, LGUs were tasked to establish a mechanism for local peace engagement, negotiation, or intervention that is nationally orchestrated, directed, and supervised while being locally implemented. As emphasized in the operational manual of Task Force ELCAC, the conduct of local peace engagements is essential in conflict-affected and conflict-vulnerable communities through community consultations and problem-solving sessions, as well as through local peace dialogues with Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs).
