The DILG Regional Office 02, in collaboration with the Department of Health Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DOH TRC) Region 02, conducted the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week Celebration 2024 - Interagency Summit cum Regional Inter-Agency on Anti-Drug Abuse Council (RICAD) Advocacy Cluster Meeting at the Cagayan Sports Coliseum, Tuguegarao City on November 26, 2024.

DAPC Week is a significant annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention and control measures.

This year’s long observance carried the theme “Prioritizing Health-Based Approach in Drug Abuse Prevention and Control”. This annual observance, held every third week of November, aims to raise public awareness about the harmful effects of drugs, encourage community involvement, and support efforts to create a safe, drug free environment.

The activity was participated by the different representatives of the Regional Line Agencies and Local Government Units. It was graced by the presence of Usec. Glenn Matthew G. Baggao, the Cluster Lead of Public Health Services Cluster and Asec. Maria Belen Angelita V. Matibag, the Deputy Executive Director for Operations of the Dangerous Drugs Board. Among the dignitaries present who expressed their message of support in the combat against illegal drugs are Hon. Manuel N. Mamba represented by Atty. Charo V. Mamba of the Province of Cagayan; Hon. Maila Rosario S. Ting-Que represented by Mr. Donne Angelo Oñate of Tuguegarao City; RD Amelita M. Pangilinan of CVCHD; and RD Charlene R. Magdurulang of PDEA R2.
