APPARI, CAGAYAN - The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Aparri marked the inauguration and turn over ceremony of the Level II Water System Project at Barangay Dodan, Aparri, Cagayan, funded under the FY 2022 Local Government Support Fund - Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) on July 11, 2024.

The ceremony was attended by personnel and staff of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office 02, led by Northern Cagayan CH Luis E. Udanga who represented Regional Director Agnes A. De Leon and Provincial Director Maria Loida M. Urmatam, along with personnel from the Regional and Provincial Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU).

 

Mayor Bryan Dale G. Chan, local elective officials and functionaries, MLGOO March B. Magat, other stakeholders, and members of the Local Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC) were also in attendance.

 

CH Udanga commended the LGU for prioritizing the water system project in Barangay Dodan, ensuring safe, potable, and adequate water supply for the residents of Aparri. "This project is not just about infrastructure; it’s about transforming lives by ensuring every family has access to clean and reliable water. It’s a fundamental human right and a cornerstone of community health and prosperity," he said. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining the project, encouraging residents to work together for better living conditions and to ensure its sustainable use.

 

Mayor Chan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the DILG for the ongoing support through programs like the LGSF-FALGU, which help LGUs provide essential services. "With this newly operational water system project, we are not just providing water; we are enabling our community to thrive and achieve greater heights to Barangay Dodan residents" he stated.

 

The LGU of Aparri received PhP 10 million for the construction of this vital infrastructure benefitting a total of 2708 individuals.
