PROVINCE OF CAGAYAN - Through the initiative of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office 2, the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC)  and Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) conducted a joint inspection of FY 2023 Support to the Barangay Development Program (SBDP) projects in selected Local Government Units (LGUs) in the Province of Cagayan on April 16-19, 2024.

Participating agencies from the RTF-ELCAC and RPMC the  are the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), Department of Budget Management (DBM), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Presidential Management Staff (PMS), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Agriculture (DA), National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

An inspection took place in LGU Gonzaga focusing on the Construction of Level II Potable Water System at Brgy. Sta. Clara on April 16, 2024. The inspectorate team visited the office of Mayor Marilyn Pentecostes for a courtesy call. The visit was led by Cagayan North CH Luis Udanga, with assistance from MLGOO Amy Tabieros.

The team continued their inspection in LGU Sto. Niño where validation took place in Brgy. Cabayo for the Rehabilitation of a Farm to Market Road, Brgy. Virginia for the Upgrading of a Farm to Market Road, and Brgy. Campo for the Rehabilitation of a Farm to Market Road at Zone 4, and Upgrading of Farm to Market Road at Zone 7. MLGOO Jasmin T. Balisi coordinated the inspection with the respective barangay officials in Cabayo, Virginia, and Campo.

A two-day inspection was conducted in LGU Piat where 13 projects were inspected. The inspectorate team went to barangays Calaoagan, Maguiling, Minanga, Sta. Barbara, and Sto. Domingo on April 18, 2024 inspecting a total of nine projects. The inspection continued at barangays Villa Rey, Warat, and Catarauan for the remaining four projects on April 19, 2024. MLGOO Sheryll B. Batugal coordinated the activity with the supervision of Cagayan South CH Ricardo CP Torrado. Mayor Leonel C. Guzman supervised the overall joint inspection in their municipality with the support and assistant of the barangay officials in the eight barangays of Piat.

The collaborative effort among the different National Government Agencies underscore the commitment to transparency, accountability, and partnership which is integral to the whole-of-nation approach advocated by the Support to the Barangay Development Program (SBDP).

Each beneficiary barangay received a total amount of PhP 6,606,882.16 for FY 2023 under the LGSF-SBDP.
