TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN — The DILG Regional Office 2, in partnership with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) North Luzon Regional Office, conducted a financial literacy orientation titled "Know Your Money" during the Monday Convocation on January 22, 2024 at the Conference Hall, DILG Regional Office 2, Regional Government Center, Carig, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The primary objective of the orientation was to enrich the comprehension on Philippine currency and instill financial awareness among DILG RO2 officials and personnel. Ms. Maria Elena Addun Madriaga, Bank Officer IV of BSP, served as the resource speaker for this enlightening session.

Ms. Madriaga's presentation delved into the intricacies of the design and security features of Philippine banknotes and coins. She particularly highlighted the advanced security measures embedded in the 1,000-peso polymer banknote. Additionally, her discussion covered relevant laws, policies, and programs related to the nation's monetary system, offering insights into the proper handling of Philippine currency and responsible financial practices.
