Regional Director Agnes A. De Leon of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 2 witnessed the inauguration of the DILG-funded vehicles along with Provincial Director Corazon D. Toribio of DILG Isabela and other DILG personnel.
LGU Quirino utilized their SGLG incentive fund to purchase three mobile patrols.
RD De Leon praised LGU Quirino for receiving the SGLG award the year prior under the direction of Mayor Edward D. Juan. She commended LGU Quirino for having their roads cemented and having an available fund for its maintenance. She stated that although the incentive fund is frequently used to improve local access roads, she rarely encountered LGUs who utilize their fund for vehicle purchases. RD De Leon thanked the LGU under Mayor Juan’s supervision for properly implementing their programs, plans, and activities (PPAs) and for utilizing their funds wisely. She also affirmed the significant impact that the constituents will receive from the LGU through the use of mobile patrols and ambulances in addressing health and disaster emergencies.
Hon. Juan thanked the DILG for granting their LGU incentive funds through SGLG and FALGU for making the purchase of their vehicles possible.
Mayor Juan expressed his gratitude to the Department for the funds provided to their LGU stating that the reason for purchasing vehicles is to address emergency and disaster concerns within the municipality since all their road networks are now paved. He expressed that the DILG-funded vehicles will bolster emergency services for his constituents, enhance accessibility to remote and far-flung areas, and increase LGU visibility in the community.
The Municipality of Quirino is a fourth class municipality under the province of Isabela with 21 barangays.
Two ambulances were procured under the LGSF-FALGU program.
The SGLGIF is an institutionalized award, incentive, honor, and recognition-based program that aims to boost LGUs' commitment to continuously develop and improve their performance along various governance areas.
SGLGIF stickers are placed in the mobile patrols to indicate that it was procured through the SGLG.
