BAYOMBONG, NUEVA VIZCAYA – Elected Vice-governor, Jose “Jing” Gambito formally assumes office as Provincial Governor after being sworn into office on Friday, May 05, 2023, at the provincial capitol building, following the untimely death of incumbent Governor and Regional Peace and Order Council Chairperson, Hon. Carlos M. Padilla.

Taking his oath before Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Paul Atolba, the succession of Gov. Gambito is in accordance with Sec. 44 of the Local Government Code, which provides for the filling up of permanent vacancies in the offices of Local Chief Executives.

Following his ascension, he issued his first Executive Order (EO) declaring a period of mourning in the province and ordering all national flags to be raised at half-mast. He also recognized Gov. Padilla’s leadership and looked back at the latter’s accomplishments and his passion and dedication in his decades long service in public office.

Gov. Gambito shall serve only the unexpired term of his predecessor.
