DILG REGIONAL OFFICE 02 – On April 26, 2022, following its application for accreditation, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office 02 (DILG R2), through the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD), was finally certified as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provider for Environmental Planning by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

The application for accreditation, which was initiated under the Local Government Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) program, was formally approved on March 17, 2022, making DILG R2 as the first ever DILG-Regional Unit and first government agency nationwide to have been conferred with the CPD certification.

With this accreditation, professionals licensed by the PRC may now gain equivalent CPD credit units when they participate in trainings on planning and other related subject matter initiated by DILG R2.

Continuing Professional Development or CPD refers to the inculcation of advanced knowledge, skills and ethical values in a post-licensure specialization or in multidisciplinary field of study, for assimilation into professional practice, self-directed research and/or lifelong learning.

The accreditation is an offshoot-study of LGCDD Assistant Division Chief, Elsbeth T. Maralli, on Knowledge Management sponsored by the Local Government Academy (LGA). (SOURCE: LGOO V LIBERTY G. BARCENA)
