DILG R2 through the Regional Project Development and Monitoring Unit (RPDMU) conducted the 1st Quarter CY 2022 Regional SubayBayani Awarding Ceremony for Top Performing LGUs and MLGOOs cum OPDS PPA Updates on April 22, 2022 at Events Place, Hotel Carmelita, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Ten (10) LGUs and MLGOOs were given recognition during the said activity. The qualifiers were determined through their compliance in the Physical Accomplishment, Financial Rate, and Enrollment Rate in the SubayBAYAN platform. For this year, the establishment of Local Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC) was integrated in the criteria as well.

The first place was bagged by LGU Sta. Teresita and MLGOO Jenalyn A. Carag. LGU Sta. Teresita also ranked first in the National SubayBayani Awards in December 2021. Followed at second place by LGU Buguey and MLGOO Josephine C. Taguinod, and the third place was awarded to LGU Sabtang and OIC-MLGOO Arlene E. Suetos.

DILG R2 Regional Director Jonathan Paul M. Leusen, Jr. lauds the qualifiers as this goes to show their unwavering commitment to their duties as public servants. Other qualifiers include the municipalities of Aparri, Ballesteros, and Camalaniugan of the province of Cagayan, and municipalities of Delfin Albano, Gamu, Naguilian, and Quirino of the province of Isabela.

Meanwhile, the keynote speech was delivered by OPDS Director Rolyn Q. Zambales. She was elated to be with the LGU-qualifiers as they display an image of being “Matino, Mahusay, at Maaasahan” instruments of the government.
