DILG REGIONAL OFFICE 02 – 18 Local Government Operations Officers (LGOOs) II across the Cagayan Valley region stepped into DILG Regional Office 2, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan to undergo an in-house General Orientation Course (GOC).

The week-long GOC is a competency-based training designed to equip the LGOOs II with the necessary set of knowledge, skills and attitude to prepare them to assume the roles and responsibilities of higher LGOO positions.

It is facilitated and supervised by the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD) from March 24-April 1, 2022, and is the first component in a series of trainings under the LGOO Training Program of the Local Government Academy (LGA). By the end of the training week, an entrance examination will be conducted to select trainees who will push through to the 54th Batch Apprenticeship Program for LGOOs II and III nationwide.

In addition to DILG R2 Personnel, partners agencies such as the Department of Budget and Management, the National Economic and Development Authority, the Bureau of Local Government Finance, the Cagayan State University, the Cagayan Provincial Learning Resource Center, and the Civil Service Commission, were also tapped as subject matter experts on the different technical topics which include an understanding of the role of the DILG in local governance, and basic information on government administrative and financial systems.
