To improve and sustain the functionality and effectiveness of local councils in the Province of Quirino DILG-Quirino conducted an Exit Conference on February 04, 2022 via Zoom platform which was attended by all members of the local councils in the six (6) municipalities of the province.

The Exit Conference apprised the LGUs on the result of the assessments conducted by the Department for the year 2021.

Opening the activity, Quirino Provincial Director, Salvacion Z. Baccay, congratulated the different local councils for the more than satisfactory results of the assessments. She emphasized that their efforts to align the institutional arrangements and implementation of programs, projects and activities are geared towards a future that is worthy for the next generation.

Presentation of results were presented by DILG Quirino personnel namely, LGOO II John Lambert A. Pascual, for the 2019 and 2020 Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) Functionality Assessment, while LGOO V Carolyn C. Mateo discussed the results of the Functionality Assessment of the 2019 and 2020 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC), 2019 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and 2019 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA).

Gaps and appropriate interventions were also identified for improvement in anticipation for the subsequent assessments, including best practices of the LGUs in the implementation of their programs, projects and activities.

Capping the activity, LGOO VII and cluster head, Marietta F. Abalus, encouraged all participants to raise the bar of excellence in terms of the functionality of the different local councils in the province.
