
CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA - Members of the Provincial COMELEC Campaign Committee (PCCC) of the Province of Isabela convened at the Provincial Capitol last February 7, 2022, to officially activate its operations and prepare for the campaign activities of candidates for the upcoming May 09, 2022 national and local elections.
The PCCC and its city and municipal counterparts are tasked to monitor the activities of candidates on the campaign trail and ensure that guidelines and restrictions are complied with.
With the promulgation of the COMELEC Resolution No. 10732 last November 24, 2021, it provides for the acquisition of permits from the COMELEC and it further provides for limitations and restrictions on the movements of election candidates, such as prohibition on close contacts which include shaking of hands, taking of selfie photos, and house-to-house campaigning.
Other members of the PCCC voiced complete support to the undertaking. Atty. Jerbee Anthony Cortez, Assistant Regional Election Director, encouraged everyone to do their best in keeping not only the candidates safe, but also the general public. Isabela Provincial Police Office, Acting Provincial Director, PCol Julio R. Go, committed to designate two (2) security personnel in every voting station to ensure peaceful election in all communities.
DILG Isabela Provincial Director, Engr. Corazon D. Toribio, called for a comprehensive information dissemination and effective communication of Resolution No. 10732 to all candidates. She also expressed the DILG’s full support to the COMELEC and the local government units, including the barangays, in the implementation of the said Resolution.
