CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA —In a simple ceremony, the Regional Inspection and Certification Team (RICT) awarded the Safety Seals to the Provincial Offices of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, and Bureau of Fire Protection on November 29, 2021.

Heading the awarding was DILG Assistant Regional Director, Elpidio A. Durwin, together with members of the inspection and certification composed of PLtCol. Gerald Miguel and PCpl. John Peredes from the PNP, SFO1 Daisy Pedralvez from the BFP, and JSI Alejo Logan, Jr from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.

Accepting the safety seal in behalf of the DILG Isabela, Engr. Toribio, underscored the significance of having the seal. “It is just proper for the offices of the DILG Family to be Safety Seal Certified first in order to affirm its credibility in assessing other establishments and offices,” she said.

The Safety Seal is a voluntary certification scheme and awarded to all private and public establishments that met the all the criteria set in Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2021-01 and DILG Memorandum Circular 2021-053. These include, among others, the provision of hand washing and temporary isolation stations, installation of physical barriers to observe distancing, and the use of StaySafe.ph application, a contact tracing tool.

Application for the seal is free and is valid for six months, except for those issued to tourism enterprises which are valid for one year.
