
CITY OF ILAGAN, ISABELA - In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the campaign on the fight against illegal drugs continues.
The DILG Region 02 conducted a rollout training on Philippine Anti-Illegal Drug Strategy (PADS) policies for the province of Isabela via Zoom application on April 28, 2021.
Cluster Heads, City and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers, DILG technical staff, LGU ADAC Focal Persons and authorized encoders attended the activity.
In her message, DILG Isabela Provincial Director Engr. Corazon D. Toribio said that while local government units are intensifying their efforts to combat COVID-19, the fight against illegal drugs continues.
“Public service should not stop. Habang nilalabanan po natin ang COVID-19, patuloy pa rin ang ating laban sa iligal na droga”, PD Toribio added.
DILG Regional Director Jonathan Paul M. Leusen, Jr. correlated the conduct of ADAC performance audit in the aim of achieving peaceful communities. He encouraged the LGUs to be relentless in their anti-illegal drug efforts as traders of illegal drugs continue to operate.
Pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2021-027 dated February 23, 2021, LGUs’ performance will still be evaluated on six (6) audit criteria namely: organization of local ADAC, conduct of meetings, allocation of funds for anti-illegal drugs, implementation of anti-illegal drugs plans and programs, support to ADACs in component LGUs and innovations introduced.
Resource persons from PADS-PMO ADAC Unit also gave a walk-through on Anti-Drug Abuse Council-Functionality Monitoring System (ADAC-FMS), an online platform to be used in the conduct of ADAC performance audit, as well as discussed the policy on the establishment and operation of Special Drug Education Centers (SDEC) for Out-of-School Youths (OSYs) and Street Children as embodied on DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2021-001 dated January 04, 2021.
