Chief executives in the provincial, city and municipal levels were recognized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and conferred the most prestigious award for Local Government Units – the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
Around 448 Local Government Units received the Seal, based on the assessment and cross-regional validation done by the Local Government Operations Officers of the Department and CSO Representatives to ensure impartiality and strengthen credibility of the awards.
The 2017 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) National Awarding Ceremony was held in The Tent City, Manila Hotel on November 27, 2017 which was conducted in 3 clusters:
- Northern Luzon – Region 1, 2 and CAR
- South Luzon – Regions 3, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA and 5
- Visayas – Regions 6,7,8
- Mindanao – Regions 9,10 11, CARAGA and ARMM
Region 02 have set its standards of transparency, integrity and service delivery as it escalated its performance manifested in the increase of more than 5% of the SGLG Passers for CY 2017.
SGLG award is another milestone achieved by the 28 LGUs in Region 02 through the joint efforts of the local governments and its stakeholders.
The 28 LGUs which were conferred with the Seal are as follows:
