The DILG, as the Vice-Chair for Disaster Preparedness, has done a great deal in ensuring that the Local Government Units are disaster-resilient and climate change adaptive. These efforts are manifested through the capacity-building interventions, Information and Education Campaigns and skills enhancements.

Seventeen (17) LGUs of the Province of Cagayan were provided with training on the Formulation of the Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP) held at the JAPI Hotel, Cauayan City, Isabela on March 16-18, 2015 and March 17-21, 2015. The two (2) schools of the training were attended by the Municipal Planning and Development Officers (MPDOs), Municipal Agriculturists (MAOs), Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officers (MENROs), Local Disaster Risk Reduction Officers (LDRRMOs) and the Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs).
