DILG Regional Office No. 2 is in need of Database Administrator with the following qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Information Technooyg/Computer Science or Equivalent
  • With at least 1 year of Experience related to the job

Technical Skills

  • Knowledgeable in Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Knowledgeable in computer systems/ network systems 
  • Knowledgeable in hardware/software troubleshooting
  • Knowledgeable in Linux OS (RHEL/CENTOS 7) 
  • Knowledgeable in Realational Database Management System (RDBMS)
  • Knowledgeable in mySQL/MariaDB
  • Knowledgeable in PHP
  • Ability to maintain complex data sets
  • Ability to troubleshoot database software error and modification to program configure, manage, maintain the operation of comlex relational database
  • Ability to communicate technical data to non-technical colleagues

Inter Personal Skills 

  • Ability to cooperate and generate cooperation from colleagues and different king of audience
  • Open mindedness
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new environment
  • Preferably with good communication and technical writing skills

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Policy on Application Development and Data Administrator of the Department
  • Implement Regional Database Back-up and Recovery Plan
  • Responsible in the performance, availability, integrity and security or Regional database
  • Regularly monitor, maintain and manage database backups and logs
  • Install, maintain, upgrade and test database software
  • Compile, sort and double check data forms to make sure all the required data is present before consolidation
  • Responsible in enrolling, controlling and monitoring users access permissions and priveleges to the database
  • Perform data analysis and produce reports/statistics
  • Works under the supervision of the Regional information Technology Officer (RITO)

  1. Assist the PDMU Chief concerned in the review of the project proposals, bid documents and bid evaluation reports and detailed engineering design. Prepare official recommendation for the approval of the project proposals and detailed engineering design.
  2. Provide follow-through technical assistance and advisory to the LGUs in the preparation of the project proposals, bid documents and detailed engineering design.
  3. Conduct site validation of the proposed projects prior to the approval of the proposals; conduct work accoplishments validation prior the release o ffunds. Validate the consistency of work accomplishmets with the fund utilization.
  4. Attend pre-bid conference and bid openings and ensure that the LGUs comply with policies and requirements of RA 9184
  5. Attend to varioius consultation processes, initiated by the ROs/LGUs together with the DILG-CO
  6. Prepare the regional project monthly accomplishments reports for submission to the DILG regional Director and the OPDS Director.
  7. Serve as resource person/facilitator during the workshops being conducted at the regional level.
  8. Perform other functions as may be required by the Regional Director

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Male or female 
  2. Minimum of 3-years experience on Water Supply Development and Implementation (preparation of feasibility study, preparation of detailed engineering design, procurement and construction supervision and operations and maintenance)
  3. Graduate of Engineering Course, preferably Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineer
