CAGAYAN VALLEY – As one of the key implementers of the 2016 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Program, DILG Region 02 attained 100% completion rate on the relevant processes covered by the first phase of the SGLG Implementation.

The SGLG is a continuing recognition system for local governments of the DILG. Its Implementation is composed of three (3) phases: (Phase 1) Regional Assessment: Data Gathering, Validation and Certification, Online Data Entry and Calibration; (Phase 2) National Assessment: Data Processing and Quality Check, Validation, Final Selection and Indorsement; and, (Phase 3) Announcement of Results and Conferment.

Upon conclusion of the SGLG Assessment in the region, efforts were now focused on the data review, online data entry, and document uploading. As of June 15, 2016, the calibration, uploading and online data entry of the SGLG forms for all 98 LGUs were fully completed. Completion of these activities is highly essential since it would greatly affect the schedule or timeline of the activities/processes of the succeeding phases of the SGLG Implementation.

Taking into account the deadlines set by the Central level, DILG Region 02 is one among the seven regional offices nationwide which achieved 100% achievement for the first phase. As DILG Regional Director John M. Castañeda always say, “Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM)”. Indeed, DILG RO2 has proven its resilience and solidarity in taking the organization to greater heights and achieving its deliverables.
