, OIC-RD Iringan posed this good news and challenge during the SGLG Awarding Ceremony cum CSO Forum on August 24, 2015 at Zen Hotel, Santiago City.

The 14 LGU-SGLG awardees were the provinces of Isabela and Quirino, Santiago City and the 11 municipalities, namely: Alfonso Castaneda, Kasibu, Ambaguio and Villaverde of the Province of Nueva Vizcaya; Saguday and Aglipay of the Province of Quirino; Angadanan and San Mateo of the Province of Isabela; and Claveria, Sanchez Mira, Sta. Praxedes of the Province of Cagayan. The Local Chief Executives, together with their respective Sanggunian members and Department Heads climbed up the stage and received the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) medallion, SGLG marker and Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) check, in the amount of Php7M for provinces, Php5M for cities and Php3M for municipalities.

Governor Junie E. Cua of the Province of Quirino and Governor Bojie Dy of Isabela thanked the department for the recognition in their response. They also gave honor and credits to the man behind the Seal of Good Housekeeping, the late Honorable Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Jesse Robredo for being an icon of “matino and mahusay na pamamahala”, an effective way of professionalizing government service.
The awarding ceremony’s Keynote Speaker, Director Manuel Q. Gotis of DILG-Bureau of Local Governance (BLGS) congratulated region 02 for the successful 14 LGUs who accepted and hurdled the challenge. In addition, he also challenged the LGUs to perform better because the department will again raise the bar of local governance for this year’s assessment.

– LGOO V Ive B. Saludez
