Last June 30, 2017, Director Jonathan Paul M. Leusen, Jr., CESO IV assumed as the new OIC-Regional Director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office 02 (DILG RO2).

In his message during his first meeting with the DILG RO2 Management Team composed of Provincial Directors and Division Chiefs, he stressed the value of the data that the department has. “It is about time that we will come up with analysis of all core programs that we implemented. And for our locally-funded projects like the Bottom-Up-Budgeting, it is necessary to identify the root cause of all the delays of these projects; because a day of delay means a lot to the community.”
OIC RD Leusen shared with the group his experiences with the Cordillera Administrative Region where he served as Assistant Regional Director. In there, he traversed the mountainous local government units by foot just to have a dialogue with the local executives on the root cause of delay of project/program implementation. In the same manner, he will also be focusing on monitoring the locally funded projects’ status, focusing on problematic areas of implementation.
OIC RD Leusen is a native of Benguet and performed as Assistant Regional Director for ten (10) years in regions 4B, 03 and CAR.
