DILG RO2 recognized outstanding personnel performance, strengthened family bond and looked back a successful 2016 through the conduct of the Rewards And Recognition for Employees (RARE) on December 21, 2016 at Hotel Carmelita, Tuguegarao City. It was attended by the Regional Director, Assistant Regional Director, Provincial Directors, Cluster Officers, City and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers and the Regional and Provincial Office Personnel. Assistant Secretary for Barangay Affairs Community Development, Roosque B. Calacat, and Ms. Minette San Juan, National Drug Rehabilitation Coordinator were also present to grace the event.
As a thanksgiving celebration for a successful 2016, the activity started with a Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Nog Sibbaluca.
OIC-ARD Atty. Odilon L. Pasaraba, CESO V appreciated the successful conduct of the activity and emphasized that “recognizing outstanding performance of personnel is a perfect means to encourage and empower them to do better and to produce more. RARE, is a symbolic effort of the Regional Office in bringing together all DILG Personnel in the region, strengthening the bond so that all effort may be placed in one direction and to live and work in accordance to the region’s strategy, #R2GETHER, together with the mantra of the Department”.
Retirees of the year namely: Ms. Consuelo Castañeda, Ms. Lilia Victoria Castillo, Ms. Angelita Agabun, Mr. Celestino Miranda Jr. and Mr. Delfin Bagunu were also honored during the Pagpupugay at Pasasalamat.

In a message, RD John M. Castaňeda, CESO III stressed that the accomplishments of the Regional Office, Provincial Offices and all DILG personnel are the achievement of the Regional Director, being considered as a national finalist for the Tatag ng Agila, a Capacity Development Leadership Award conferred by LGA for Regional Directors with Exceptional strong advocacy and quality strategic responsive Capacity Development. He also thanked everyone for their support and commitment to the region’s strategy: #R2GETHER: Region 02 Guarantees Every Task is Harmoniously done with Excellent Result. This strategy, steered by the principle of TEAM work “Together, Everyone Achieves More”, served as the blueprint of the region to ensure smooth, systematic and successful implementation of various Programs, Projects and Activities that brought a number of awards to the region, as an institution and individually during his administration.
