CABARROGUIS, QUIRINO – Members from the DILG Regional Assessment Team, together with DILG Quirino validated the Local Road Management Performance Assessment (LRMPA) of Quirino Province on May 25-26, 2022 at MGT Hotel Cabarroguis, Quirino.

The two-day validation, led by DILG Provincial Director, Salvacion Z. Baccay and RPDMU Chief, Engr. Imelda PA. Rosales assessed the provincial government’s local road management performance and capacity vis-à-vis the planning, prioritizing and sustainable management of local road network in consideration of the envisioned socioeconomic development in the province.

Director Baccay expressed her confidence that the validation will accurately reflect and enable the Province of Quirino to formulate the necessary capacity development strategies on the identified areas for development and leverage the identified strengths. It will also be a means for the department in identifying whether LGUs need assistance in developing their respective LRM capabilities.

Local roads are critical infrastructures that provide and accelerate the delivery of public services and goods. The development and management of the local road network is therefore central to this mandate. As LGUs look to the DILG for guidance, it is paramount that recognized practices for local road management are shared to the LGUs as they fulfill their mandate.
