GAMU, ISABELA – Thirty nine (39) rehired Contact Tracers (CTs) in the province of Isabela were oriented on the latest health protocols issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Managing Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID).

The CTs were convened on March 08, 2022 by DILG-Isabela and were updated on the latest IATF-MEID Guidelines on the nationwide implementation of Alert Level System for COVID-19 response.

During the program, Isabela Provincial Director, Engr. Toribio, expressed her gratitude to all contact tracers for their incessant efforts and contributions as part of the government’s COVID-19 response. She also emphasized that everyone should still be vigilant and must consider all safety measures to guard their families, especially that contact tracing involves high exposure to threats of the virus.

The rehiring of contact tracers came as the Department acknowledges the critical role of Contact Tracers in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission and to aid in the contact tracing efforts of the local government units.

Out of the 181 Contact Tracers hired last year, only 39 were rehired and selections were made based on assessments conducted by the Local Health Officers/Local Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Heads.
