
CABARROGUIS, QUIRINO – In a bid to authenticate all documents submitted by the Municipal Inter-agency Monitoring Task Force (IMTF) for the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA), the Provincial IMTF composed of DILG Provincial Diretor, Salvacion Z. Baccay, Ms. Lilibeth A. Sampaga from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Daniphine A. Badua of the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Clavelina S. Tolbe from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and Filemon V. Ranchez, Presidentof theFederation of Senior Citizens., representng the Civil Society Organization (CSO) sector, convened on November 29, 2021 via Zoom online platform to validate all six (6) component municipalities in the Province of Quirino.
The LGUs were assessed based on set indicators namely, child Survival, Development, Protection, Participation and Governance and overall performance of LGUs in implementing child-friendly policies, programs, projects and services. The audit-generated data and results shall also serve as basis for all local governments and concerned government agencies to identify strengths and opportunities with regard to ensuring and upholding children’s rights in relation to local governance in the country. LGUs that pass the audits are conferred with the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG) by the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) Board which is also a requirement for both Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) and the Presidential Award for Child Friendly Municipalities and Cities (PACFMC).
The said validation was facilitated by DILG-Quirino technical personnel in the persons of LGOO VI and Program Manager, Blessing Grace G. Sagun, and LGOO V and Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Unit (LGMEU) Chief and CFLGA Provincial Focal Person, Carolyn C. Mateo.
