
AGLIPAY, QUIRINO – On June 09, 2021 the Department of the Interior and Local Government, represented by Regional Director Jonathan Paul M. Leusen, Jr. and Quirino Provincial Office Director, Salvacion Z. Baccay officially turned-over the completed projects under FYs 2019 and 2020 Assistance to Municipalities (AM) Program.
Receiving the projects in behalf of the Local Government Unit of Aglipay, Quirino was local chief executive, Hon. Jerry T. Agsalda. Said projects are local access roads located at Barangay Progreso and Villa Pagaduan with a budget allocation of Php7,864,000.00 and Php8,980,000 respectively and an additional procurement of DRR Rescue Vehicle with a budget allocation of Php2,000,000.00.
Parts of the program include the formal signing of the Certificate of Turn-Over and Acceptance and on-site ceremonial ribbon cutting. In his acceptance speech, Hon. Jerry T. Agsalda, said that even in the midst of a pandemic, LGU Aglipay has to deliver the much-needed projects as it is their commitment to the Aglipayanos.
“The road projects are expected to significantly contribute to a more efficient movement of goods and people while the rescue vehicle will be used for disaster response,” he said.
Meanwhile, RD Leusen, Jr. also gave a short message where he reminded the local officials of their responsibility to timely implement development projects with the least inconvenience to the public and with the strict adherence to honesty and integrity.
“The successful completion of the projects is a testament to the efficiency and effectiveness of the local officials and functionaries,” the director said.
Expressing their utmost gratitude and appreciation in behalf of their constituents, the Punong Barangays of Villa Pagaduan and Progreso took turns thanking the Department and the municipal government and hoped that more priority projects will be funded and implemented in their localities.
