
DILG REGION 02, TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN- To ensure all personnel are kept abreast with the latest updates on the COVID-19 vaccination of the national government, the DILG Regional Office 2 through the initiative of the FAD-Personnel section held a virtual orientation in partnership with the Department of Health- Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development (DOH-CVCHD) on June 11, 2021.
Present during the activity were Regional Director Jonathan Paul M. Leusen, Jr., Assistant Regional Director, Elpidio A. Durwin, CESO IV, and technical and administrative officers and staff from the regional and provincial offices.
During his opening message for the activity, Director Leusen, emphasized the importance of getting inoculated as part of the government sector.
“We are doing our share by getting vaccinated,” he said.
He also encouraged everyone to take the activity as an opportunity to air questions and clarifications about the vaccination program.
“We cannot do our job well if we are infected with COVID-19. That is why we need to know about the vaccination program and its components,” he added.
Meanwhile, resource speaker, Dr. Ma. Angelica A. Taloma, discussed and enumerated the different objectives of the vaccination program, which basically are, to save lives and mitigate the impact of the pandemic, launch a national vaccination program against COVID-19, and to provide free and effective, high quality COVID-19 vaccines, while prioritizing those most-at-risk and most vulnerable populations.
Closing the activity, Assistant Director Durwin, reminded all DILG personnel especially the field officers to be champions of the Department’s own advocacy efforts to intensify the government’s vaccination program.
