TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN – The Cagayan Provincial Management Coordinating Committee (PMCC) and Special Drug Education Center (SDEC) Team met virtually on May 18, 2021 to deliberate the anti-illegal drugs strategies of the province and launch the preparation for the ADAC Performance Audit. The PMCC was organized to further strengthen the collaboration between the DILG attached agencies and the LGUs in the province, especially on program implementation and policy formulation.
In his message, DILG Provincial Director and PMCC Chairperson Ruperto B. Maribbay Jr. said that the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council has rolled-out various anti-illegal drugs policies to the LGUs in order to reinforce public safety in the province. Provincial Office conducted webinars to orient the ADACs on the upcoming ADAC Performance Audit. He emphasized that the fight against illegal drugs should be strengthen even during the pandemic.
During the plenary, LGOO II Renz Angelo P. Umambong, Provincial Focal Person, presented the analysis of the 2018 ADAC Performance Audit. He said that the Cagayan PADAC garnered 98% functionality rate, one of the highest audit points given to a province. He also stated that the Provincial Government of Cagayan has institutionalized reforms on anti-illegal drugs operations, such as the establishment of the Special Drug Education Center in 2019.
Meanwhile, LGOO V Jasmin Aresta, Regional Focal Person for ADAC, discussed the policy guidelines on the implementation of the Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Audit. She said that the audit covers the years 2019 and 2020 and all LGUs will be subjected to the performance assessment. There will be six (6) indicators of the audit tool namely organized LADAC, allocation of funds, implementation of anti-illegal drugs plans and programs, support to component ADACs, conduct of meetings, and local innovations.
