
SEPTEMBER 9, 2020 --- Thirty one (31) members of the Regional Peace and Order Council 2 joined the meeting presided over by Chair Hon. Manuel N. Mamba held on September 9, 2020 via Zoom cloud meeting.
The 3rd Quarter meeting started by the RPOC Chair acknowledging all the efforts by the region in providing the best services in universal health care, universal tertiary education, 4Ps, cementing of roads and others.
PBGen Edgar Cacayan of the PNP Police Regional Office 02 gave an update regarding the peace and order situation in the region, providing all the facts in connection with the total crime incidents, the index crime volume and public safety index. It also reported that there is a decrease in the regional index crimes, consistent with the holistic crime prevention efforts by this Police Regional Office.
Thereafter, Col. Danilo Benavides of the 5th Infantry Division-Philippine Army gave an update regarding the insurgency situation in the region stating that there is a dismantling in the central front affecting the organizational structure of the communist terrorist group. The barangays in Isabela are already cleared and they are transformed into conflict resilient communities.
Lastly, RD Joel Plaza of PDEA Region 2 discussed different type of drugs being smuggled in the region and stated the different modes how it is being transported. They gave an insight to what type of strategy they use to keep the number of drug users low in the region. They provided a list of arrests and seizures made in the past quarter. There is a continuous success in the drug clearing operations being performed in the region.
Other concerns during the meeting were delegated to different agencies and as agreed, updates will be given in the next meeting.
