The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office 02 through the leadership of Regional Director Jonathan Paul M. Leusen, Jr. conducted the Peace and Order Councils Performance Audit Regional Training Roll-out on August 1-2, 2018 at Zen Hotel, Santiago City.
In his message, RD Leusen underscored the importance of the assessment in the Administration’s war against drugs and insurgency. He also gave a walk-through on the Peace and Order Councils’ (POCs) present situation and how the Peace, Order, and Public Safety Plans are geared toward the implementation of the present Administration’s War on Drugs.
The activity was attended by the Provincial Directors of the four mainland provinces, C/MLGOOs, members of the Provincial Audit Teams and Regional Audit Teams. It was conducted to provide an avenue to discuss in detail the background, protocols, and parameters/indicators of the assessment. In addition, the questions of the participants were adequately answered.
Specifically, the topics that were discussed are Background of the Peace and Order Councils Performance Audit, its requirements, and the guidelines governing the audit and the indicative schedule; Protocols for the POC Performance Audit. Furthermore, the Audit Criteria such as: Pillar 1- Organization, Pillar 2- Meetings, Pillar 3- Policies, Plans and Budget, Pillar 4 Reports, Pillar 5- Innovations were highlighted. Thereafter, Open Forum ensued.
Provincial Director Corazon D. Toribio formally closed the training by thanking the participants and facilitators for the wonderful learning experience.
