Barangay Darapidap in Nueva Vizcaya has now 100% access to safer and cleaner drinking water after the inauguration and turnover ceremonies of the water system project on August 2, 2018.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government Unit (DILG) Region 02 alongside the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Aritao has officially turned-over the project dubbed “Construction of Level II Water System in Darapidap” to Darapidap Water Sanitation Association (DARAWASA).

DILG, thru its Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig para sa Lahat or SALINTUBIG program, is committed to respond in realizing one of the country’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to have a clean water and sanitation for every Filipino for 2022.

Aimed to give better water quality services for each Filipino, the water system was funded under the SALINTUBIG program amounting to P3.5M.

In his message, DILG 02 Regional Director Jonathan Paul M. Leusen Jr., congratulated LGU Aritao for completing the project adding that there is additional P12M fund assistance for SALINTUBIG 2018 in Aritao.

Municipal Mayor Lucita Tan expressed her gratitude to DILG for its continuous supervision and support to Aritao and assured the people to assist and help them when problem arises during the duration of the project.

Further, Vice Mayor Ruben Sayo challenged the people of Darapidap to take good care of the project. “Daytuy ket kukwa yu, haan mi nga kukua, haan nga kukua dagiti opisyales, kukua yu nga bumarangay ket taripatuen tayu kuma daytuy, ta haan da met maaramid nu is-isuda laeng. Agtitinnulong tayo ta detoy ket agballigi babaen ti panagkaykaysa ken innanus ti maysa ket maysa,” he said.

Engr. Eddie Crisologo, municipal engineer, said that the water system is already available to public that will supply 1,000 households. The project was designed to last until 2030.

Moreover, residents of Barangay Darapidap were also grateful for the completion of the project. “Agyaman kami ta naikkan kami ti panaggin-awaan mi pay. Haan kami mabannug nga agsakdu ta adda daytuy gripo nga mausarmin ket sigurado pay nga nalinis a danum ti mainum mi,” shared Sufrino Pascua.
