With the new set of barangay officials ready to assume office this July 1, 2018, DILG RO2 is now preparing the ground works for the conduct of the BNEO for GREAT Barangays Program. The BNEO is a series of capacity building and coaching activities for barangay officials that will help and guide them to effectively perform their mandated duties and responsibilities. 

Among the first activities to be conducted is Component B of the BNEO Program which is the Face to Face training for barangay officials and employees. As a preparatory activity, DILG RO2 thru the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD), organized a Technical Working Group composed of Cluster Heads, Program Focal Persons, and other technical staff to review and enhance the BNEO modules and materials.

The TWG had its initial meeting on June 14, 2018 and reviewed the following Modules: Module I: Decentralization and Governance; Module II: Barangay Government Administration; Module III: Essentials of Governance Administration and Module IV: National Program Thrusts. Among those that were looked into by the group were: sequencing of topics; updating of materials to conform to new laws, regulations; inclusion of templates/guides and AVPs in the material to further aid/assist learning process. The reviewed and enhanced Modules will be utilized during the BNEO Program Orientation for all Field Officers prior to the implementation of the BNEO.
