As the rainy season continues, local government units (LGUs) in Isabela incessantly prepare for the possible onslaught of disasters.

As such, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Isabela continued to conduct Operation LISTO coaching to the Local Chief Executives (LCEs) in Isabela.

The advocacy started last 2016 in celebration of the Isabela Disaster Preparedness Day which initially targeted the newly-minted LCEs in the province.

During the coaching, LCEs and local government functionaries were oriented on the Listong Pamahalaang Lokal component particularly on the Checklist of Minimum Critical Preparations and Checklist of Early Preparations for Mayors.

The Listong Pamahalaang Lokal component of the program institutionalized disaster protocols for LGUs to be observed before, during and after disaster.

DILG, as the vice-chairperson for preparedness, conceptualized Operation LISTO which seeks to strengthen preparedness of LGUs using the whole of government approach for disaster preparedness.

The advocacy program entails three (3) components which include Listong Pamahalaang Lokal, Listong Pamayanan and Listong Pamilyang Pilipino which seek to strengthen disaster preparedness at the city/municipal, barangay and household levels, respectively.
